Terms of Sale

These terms apply when you buy an e-book from this website. Please read them before you pay. If you do not agree with them, please do not place an order.

1. Who we are

The seller is Aktive Group Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201104292W), trading as Aktive Learning, 10 Anson Road #17-19, International Plaza, Singapore 079903. You can reach us at sales@aktive.com.sg.

2. What you are buying

You are buying a digital copy of a book as a PDF file. We do not sell or ship printed books from this website. The page for each book describes what it covers.

3. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in Singapore dollars (SGD) and are shown on the book page, in your cart and at checkout. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. We are not registered for GST, so prices do not include GST.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe, our payment provider. You can pay with the methods Stripe offers at checkout, for example card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayNow. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Your order is complete when your payment succeeds. We then email your download links.
  • If we find a pricing mistake or suspect fraud, we may cancel an order. If we do, we will refund you in full.

4. Delivery

  • We deliver by email to the address you give at checkout. The same links also appear on the page you see after payment.
  • Each link works for 7 days and allows up to 5 downloads. If a link has expired or been used up, you can ask for fresh links at any time on the My downloads page.
  • Please check that your email address is right and look in your spam folder. If you have not received your books within one hour, email us and we will help.
  • You will need a PDF reader. We cannot promise that the file will work on every device or program.

5. Your licence

When you buy an e-book, you get a personal licence to use it. You do not become the owner of the book or its copyright.

You may:

  • keep the file and read it on your own devices;
  • print it for your own use;
  • quote short extracts with credit to the book and its authors.

You may not:

  • share the file or your download links with anyone else, or put them on the internet;
  • sell, lend, rent or give away the file;
  • copy, change or reuse the content for any other purpose without our written permission.

6. Your copy carries your name

Each copy is made for you. It has your name (as you entered it at checkout), your email address and your order number printed in a small footer, and hidden inside the file. We do this to protect authors' rights. If a copy appears online or is shared without permission, we may use this information to find out which order it came from, and we may take action. See our Privacy Policy for how we use this information.

Please enter your name carefully at checkout. If it is wrong, email us before you download.

7. Copyright

All books, covers, text and images on this website belong to Aktive Group Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201104292W), trading as Aktive Learning or to the authors, and are protected by copyright. Nothing in these terms gives you any right to them except the licence in section 5.

8. The books are not advice

Our books give general information and the authors' own views and experience. They are not financial, investment, legal, tax or professional advice, and they are not a promise of any result. Markets, laws and rules change. Please get advice from a qualified professional about your own situation before you make a decision.

9. Refunds

Because an e-book cannot be returned, refunds follow our Refund Policy.

10. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Singapore law that cannot be limited, and nothing limits our responsibility for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Apart from that, and as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses, or for losses from decisions you make after reading a book. Our total responsibility for any one order is limited to the price you paid for it.

11. Changes

We may change our prices, our books, this website or these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page when you place it.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore will decide any dispute about them. A person who is not a party to these terms has no right to enforce them.
